: Well I guess we have our own opinions and perceptions as to whom is great and who isn't in terms of signing. We cant argue that; all the singers that you have listed are excellent in their own rights - they all have different singing styles. No one can step in others shoes - What Mr. Kuldip Manak ji did - Chamkila cant do and what Mr. Gurdas Mann ji can do that Chamkila or Mr. Manak ji can't do. Each has their own niche that they have carved in the world of singing - we cannot measure their effectiveness and greatness by comparing them. Each has a unique ability and charisma that appeals to different genre of audience. Mr. Mann's songs strike a chord with the audience of both genders and of all ages - many of the singers have not been able to do that. He has sung one of the best songs for our language - "Punjabiye zubane ni rakane mere desh diye - fiki pai gaye chehra de nuhar ni midian khilari phire ni bulle diye kafiye ne kinie tera lah leia shingar ni, Punjabiye zubane....
: I guess we can all argue and debate forever on this topic - however at the end of the day - it comes back to apni apni pasand
: However, as stated earlier - ALL of them are great in their respective ways, but personally Mr. Mann - no one compares to him - he has maintained his sense of individuality and culture and tradition alive in his songs and in this day and age it is very difficult and Hats off to him for doing so..... because not many have been able to do it
: All the best to each and everyone one of them and for Mr. Didar Sandhu and Chamkila - tehy will never be forgotten by the Punjabi music lovers - they will live on in our hearts forever.
